Under $150: The Sailor Earring and The Pearl Powder
I’m on a mission to turn all of my friends into pearl girls, and this gift combo is my favourite place to start. The Sailors are the perfect size: they’re lightweight, but still substantial enough to put their unique, natural shape on full display. The pearl powder is a beautiful wellness ritual to incorporate into your daily matchas and evening skincare. It is one of my favourite gifts to give, and I love that it adds a glow to the skin that picks up the liquid lustre of our pearl earrings.
Luxury: The Venus Pendant
If you’re looking for an heirloom pendant, but not entirely sure of your recipients’ taste, I highly recommend our Venus pendant. We source natural baroques of the highest quality and shape, and drill a gold-mounted diamond into the centre of each one for a delicate sparkle. They are incredibly elegant, and the natural shape of our pearls makes each Venus as unique as the woman (or man!) wearing it.

Fountain pen: Kaweco Brass Sport Pen
I was a journalist in a former life and I am very picky about my pens. The Kaweco Brass Sport Pen is my favourite. The brass casing is beautifully heavy, and the ink comes in replaceable cartridges in a variety of colours. The nibs are interchangeable as well — the Extra Fine nib is my go-to, and unlike typical <0.5mm nibs, the Kaweco EF glides smoothly and deposits ink evenly. It turns updating my daily planner into a ritual I genuinely enjoy.
Notebook: Papier Stationary
To go along with my Kaweco Fountain Pen, Papier is my go-to for all things stationery. Their journals are lovely, and they have a fun range of planners varying from classic to quirky. I love to gift my friends monogrammed stationery.
Sunscreen: Beauty of Joseon’s Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics
This is my favourite sunscreen/daily moisturizer all-in-one. Living in Hawaii I reach for SPF50+ and wear it every day on my face, neck and hands. This one is formulated with 30% rice extract and grain ferment extracts to support your skin barrier. I don’t wear foundation, but this does the trick: it evens out my skin tone and adds glow in a really lovely way without adding pigment. It comes in a few different form factors; I keep the stick in my purse, and the tube in my bathroom.

These were the very first pair of earrings I got when I joined the Maris team a few years ago, and to this day, they’re still my most-worn piece. They’re lightweight enough for me to wear every day (and I do!) but versatile enough to dress up for special occasions. They’ve become my go-to gift for friends and family—already a few pairs have found new homes!

Stephanie introduced me to Moon Lists a few years ago, and I immediately jumped on their site to order a journal for myself. I’m admittedly the kind of person who buys every pretty journal, vows to write every day, and then abandons it after a few pages. But what I love about Moon Lists is that it’s more of a guided workbook, filled with prompts, quotes, and questions to help you reflect—on everything from big life moments to the everyday details you might otherwise overlook. It’s introspective and inspiring, without any pressure to keep up a rigid journaling routine. I’ve found it to be a great conversation starter for more thoughtful conversations with friends.
Pareos: Soleil Soleil
Pareos are my ultimate wardrobe essential, and I pretty much carry one with me at all times. Living on an island means I’m constantly at the beach, and these are perfect as a wraparound cover-up, a throw for sun protection, or even an impromptu towel. Soleil Soleil’s bright colors and bold, blocky island prints are my favorites. Plus, I love their transparency as a brand and their commitment to ethical and environmentally conscious production.
Sunglasses: Meller
Spending so much time on the water, protecting my eyes is a non-negotiable. I’m also notorious for breaking or losing every pair of sunglasses I’ve ever owned, so I’m always on the hunt for durable, affordable options that don’t skimp on style. Meller checks all the boxes for me—they’re durable, polarized, and offer UV400 protection, which is a must for long days in the sun. Plus, they have a range of funky and playful designs letting me have a little more fun with my eyewear without breaking the bank.
